Air War College Hosts 1st Academic Seminar: "The Genesis of Thai Air Power"
BANGKOK, March 30, 2026 – The Air War College, under the Directorate of Education and Training, Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF), convened its inaugural academic seminar titled "The Genesis of Thai Air Power" on Monday, March 30, 2026.
The seminar featured a prestigious panel of speakers, including Air Chief Marshal Sakpinit Promthep, a distinguished expert in RTAF history, and Air Chief Marshal Rawin Thanomsing, Commander of the Air Operations Control Command. They were joined in discussion by Group Captain Chakrin Phuwadechapong, a student of the Air War College, Class 60.
The primary objective of this seminar was to pay tribute to the visionary contributions and royal grace of His Majesty King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) and His Royal Highness Prince Chakrabongse Bhuvanath, Prince of Bishnulok, both of whom laid the foundation for aviation in Thailand.
Beyond historical commemoration, the session focused on analyzing historical leadership concepts to be adapted and applied by the RTAF’s future strategic-level officers. As a cornerstone of the Air War College curriculum, this academic activity is designed to cultivate systematic management skills and broaden the strategic vision for the students of Class 60, ensuring they are well-prepared for future challenges in national defense.
