The 2nd Academic Symposium on "Safeguarding National Interests in Air and Space"
The Air War College, Directorate of Education and Training, Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF), organized the 2nd Academic Symposium on the topic of "Safeguarding National Interests in Air and Space" on Friday, April 3, 2026. The event was honored by the participation of Air Vice Mashal Napassadol Pavarabaddhanaguna, Director, Office of the Royal Thai Air Force Security Cooperation Services to the Internal Security Operations Command. He participated in a panel discussion alongside Associate Professor Dr.Lalin Kovudhikulrungsri, Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University, and Mr. Thaleingsak Phathong, Vice President (Provincial Air Navigation Services), Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Limited (AEROTHAI). The session was moderated by Group Captain Thaninrat Sitthiwetthanasiri, a student of the Air War College, Class 60.
The symposium aimed to study the modern security environment and relevant legal mechanisms. The insights gathered will be used to analyze and expand the operational scope of safeguarding national air and space interests under the structure, missions, and responsibilities of the Coordination Center for Safeguarding National Air and Space Interests, the RTAF Operations Center, and other relevant agencies.
Furthermore, the discussion sought to provide recommendations for appropriately restructuring the Coordination Center for Safeguarding National Air and Space Interests to facilitate agile decision-making and rapid situational responses. It also explored potential frameworks for drafting legislation related to the protection of national interests in air and space. This academic symposium serves as a vital component of the Air War College curriculum, designed to train and develop systematic management skills while enhancing the strategic vision of the students of the Air War College, Class 60.
